Keeping skis in good working condition greatly improves any skier’s day on the hill, regardless of skill level. At Skiis & Biikes in Collingwood, their service team boasts impressive ski levelling and waxing technology found in only a handful of ski shops across North America.
Montana produces Crystal Magic; a sophisticated tuning machine that runs skis through a rigorous tune-up process; including diamond stone grinding. This process is fully automated and ensures that each ski is flattened, sharpened, and levelled for optimal performance.
Next, the skis are treated to Montana’s impressive infrared waxing treatment, where they are heated and hand-waxed. This treatment ensures that every inch of the ski receives equal wax, and the wax is also sealed more effectively, which preserves the condition of the ski for longer.
Along with these automated processes, the team at Skiis & Biikes also tunes skis and boards by hand according to each client’s unique needs.
Appointments for ski tunes are not required, however most clients must be prepared to leave their gear overnight since the team is very busy with tune-ups, binding adjustments, and other services all season long. A tune-up typically costs $59.99, and this includes a run through Crystal Magic, an infrared waxing, and some hand grinding to remove any rust or especially rough edges.
Skiis & Biikes is located on First Street in Collingwood. For more information, visit https://skiisandbiikes.com/pages/locations__collingwood#/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=gbp-listing
