The Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts is committed to making art fun and accessible to people of all ages and experience. Recently, the BMFA ran a mosaic art class let by local artist Merryn Edgar, and students who were new to art-making learned the skills and process behind creating tactile relief pieces.
The class ran on Saturday, February 22nd at the BMFA shop, and over the course of the afternoon Merryn introduced the students to concepts like composition through shape and texture, colour theory, and the technical skills required to produce 3D mosaic art. The class not only offered participants the opportunity to learn new skills and take brand new pieces of art home with them, but to immerse themselves in a relaxing, creative activity in a fun, social environment.
The BMFA runs a variety of classes and workshops throughout the year. To learn more, visit https://www.bmfa.on.ca/
