Michael Arkless and his wife have travelled all over the world for nearly 40 years, and Arkless uses these adventures to stoke his passion for both photography and education. He has delivered a series of presentations on his trips to various parts of the world through the Arts & Culture Council, and his most recent presentation has been highly anticipated.
Arkless partook in a 10-day journey around Iceland, using the Ring Road as the main tributary along which he followed. Through his photography and interactions with people along the way, he successfully encapsulated the essence of life in Iceland from the landscape to human and material culture to wildlife.
The presentation was held at the L.E. Shore Memorial Library and welcomed approximately 90 people from Orillia all the way to Owen Sound. For more information on other offerings from the library, visit https://www.thebluemountainslibrary.ca/events-programs/event-calendar
