As Ontario’s largest ski resort, Blue Mountain dedicates itself to creating and optimizing the most efficient operation systems possible, from snow making to guest services to chair lift mechanics. Take a look at what goes on behind the scenes of the Silver Bullet lift to keep skiers and riders safe and happy from the start of their journey up the hill to the end.
Chair lifts can be designed in a variety of ways, but they all contain the same basic components. On the Silver Bullet, the drive station is at the top while the return station is at the bottom, and in between there are numerous towers. A fibre optic system ensures that any issues that may arise are efficiently and accurately addressed through constant monitoring and clear communication between staff. Blue Mountain strives to keep lift stoppages to a minimum, and thanks to their sophisticated technology and advanced communications network, the team is able to quickly and effectively address issues and get the lifts back up and running smoothly.
