A P51 mustang, demonstrated its awe-inspiring power for a crowd of people who gathered for a special ceremony to rename the airport in Meaford in honour of a World War II veteran, retired Major-General Richard Rohmer. Rohmer, now 100 years old flew a similar aircraft on 135 reconnaissance missions over enemy territory and took part in D-Day operations. He recalls a day in July 1944 when the spotted a high a ranking German officer behind the front lines.
