Pinball and arcade lovers flocked to the GNE for the third annual Pinfest. Festival Organizer Dave Astill launched the festival three years ago to give the Ontario arcade community an opportunity to connect and play. The festival grows annually with an expected attendance of around 500 this year. Many visitors have come from all over the province and some have even travelled up from the States.
Pinfest is the only pinball and arcade festival on Ontario, and its model is heavily influenced by long running festivals in the US. Visitors are able to play over 100 different games, enjoy food and drinks through out the day, and peruse a variety of vendor booths. The festival attracts gamers of all ages; many of whom are attending to relive their childhood, and many more who are playing pinball and other retro games for the very first time.
