Since 2018, the Woodview Skating Trail at Blue Mountain has delighted visitors of all ages. The outdoor trail is located at the top of the mountain and features a 1.1km loop through the trees. This scenic adventure offers glimpses of the ski hill and out over Georgian Bay, and it provides a slower paced alternative to skiing and snowboarding for visitors looking for a more relaxing activity. The trail also features lighting installations and music playing throughout.
This year has been exceptionally good for the skating trail because ideal temperatures and plenty of snowfall have enabled staff to maintain between 6-8 inches of ice consistently. Aside from the trail’s opening season which boasted 12 inches of ice at its peak, this year is proving to be the best for the trail’s conditioning and upkeep.
Passes can by purchased from the kiosk at the top of the hill, and equipment rentals are available for anyone who does not have their own skates. The skating trail is open daily from 12pm-8pm Mondays-Thursdays, from 10am-8pm Saturdays and Sundays, and from 12pm-12am on Fridays.
