After considerable investment and plenty of trial and error, Sandhill Creek Flower Farm is open for its very first Tulip Fest. The farm is known for its Sunflower Walks that run in the late summer, and expanding up on that offering has been a goal for some time. For a limited time, visitors can experience a vast array of vibrant tulips while spending quality time outdoors.
Farm co-owner Roseanne Kersten was eager to get into tulips because her husband is Dutch and her late mother loved them. To make the Tulip Fest dream a reality, Kersten needed to import a special planter from Holland and invest in 350 000 bulbs. The flowers have just begun to open with the fields between 25-40% bloomed, and they will be in season for an other few weeks or until the temperatures rise.
Visitors are able to tour the fields and stage plenty of picturesque photo ops along with picking their own bouquets to take home. The farm is open daily and admission is $11.95. For more information, visit https://sandhillcreek.ca/
