Indigenous creators, entertainers, and entrepreneurs showcased their work at the Indigenous Market in Creemore. The market is sponsored by the Creemore Farmers’ Market in an effort to give Indigenous creators and artists a dedicated platform. The event featured a variety of vendors, musical performances, and and opening ceremony let by Elder Grey Cloud (James Carpenter) and his family, during which he shared stories, educated the crowd on Indigenous culture and customs, and performed a traditional dance.
Event organizer Peta Christen hopes that this event will continue to grow in both scope and attendance, and she hopes to see the vendors at this market join the weekly Creemore market roster as well. For more information, visit https://creemorefarmersmarket.ca/indigenous-market
