Tips to Beat the Heat

As southern Ontario continues to experience higher than normal temperatures and very little rainfall, summer camps and other outdoor recreation programs are keeping sun safety top of mind to keep their participants happy and healthy.
Vlad and his team at Nonstop Soccer are vigilant about scheduling plenty of water and snack breaks for their campers, ensuring they have ample access to shade, and structuring their daily programming in accordance with the weather. With the camp being devoted to skill development and in-game confidence building, their days are full of high energy drills, rigorous practice, and plenty of camp-wide soccer games. All of that activity means lots of sun exposure, physical exertion, and energy depletion, so the coaching staff monitor their campers closely and remain diligent about responsible play. Their biggest tips for beating the heat are staying well hydrated, limiting direct sun exposure by finding shade, wearing hats and dressing in light clothing, and of course, applying sunscreen.
Nonstop Soccer camp welcomes campers between the ages of 6-13 from all over South Georgian Bay. Campers arrive with varying levels of experience and all leave with a solid foundation of primary skills, more confidence and technical ability, and a greater appreciation for the increasingly popular sport.
