Sewing Class
1m 43s
When Alyssa Boutilier moved to New Lowell, she was eager to find ways to build friendships and foster community. She chose to share her passion for sewing and the art of fabric work with others, and has been running a variety of classes in both New Lowell and Creemore.
Both adult and children’s classes are offered, and class sizes are kept small to ensure dedicated, quality instruction for all students. The classes are designed to educate and empower participants with important life skills. Boutilier teaches her students how to create items like tote bags and garments like pyjama pants through detailed, hands-on instruction. From the first class, students learn how to use sewing machines, trace patterns, properly prepare fabrics for quality results, and solve problems along the way.
Boutilier cites that sewing has become a lost art, and she hopes that her classes will inspire the next generation to take the up the craft and build skills that will serve them throughout their lives. For more information, visit Alyssa’s Facebook page: AlyssaB’s alterations and sewing classes.
