Since 1997, the Meaford Scarecrow Invasion has been a beloved community initiative that beautifies the town while uniting its citizens. With about 150 scarecrows to be built annually, the Invasion committee creates community scarecrow workshops to get more folks involved with the festivities. Throughout July and August, teams of up to fifty people volunteer their time to try their hand at scarecrow construction, all while enjoying social fun with new friends.
