Rally for Rescue Dogs

When Liliane Vidicek began volunteering with Speaking of Dogs Rescue, she knew she has stumbled upon something special. After losing her own dog, she was introduced to the organization through a friend, and she was immediately inspired by the charity’s mission. Unlike other dog rescue initiatives, Speaking of Dogs focuses on fostering ageing, hard to adopt, and dogs with special need to keep these animals out of crowded shelters while finding their forever family. The organization ensures all dogs taken in receive full medical care, including necessary surgeries and medications, and at no cost to the foster families.
Liliane has now fostered four dogs for the charity. Learning firsthand how dedicated this organization is to helping rescued dogs live full and happy lives inspired her to give back. As a member of one of the Collingwood Probus groups, she spearheaded the Rally for Rescue Dogs; a scavenger hunt spanning Collingwood and surrounding areas that culminated in a dinner and prize draw at the Collingwood Legion.
The rally featured 75 participants all eager to zoom around Georgian Bay as they deciphered clues that led them to their various destinations. Many local businesses participated as scavenger hunt stops and all together, the event raised between $7-8000 for Speaking of Dogs. The funds raised will help cover medical bills for more dogs in need.
