For nearly 30 years, Not-So-Pro Sports has brought their beach volleyball tournament to Wasaga Beach, inviting over 500 players to stay and play in the community. The tournament unites players from all over Ontario, many of whom look forward to participating each year because it’s the only time they are able to reconnect with old friends while making new ones.
The tournament features five divisions to cater to players of all skill levels, and each team competes over two days for gold, silver, and bronze medals, prize packs, and bragging rights. Not-So-Pro Sports emphasizes the social aspect of team sports as much at the sports themselves, so the weekend is also filled with fun activities like outings to restaurants, bars, and local attractions.
This year, the tournament featured a large number of local teams, indicating that interest in the sport is growing in the area. Players praise beach volleyball for being fun, active, outdoors, and highly social, so tournaments like this are poised to grow and attract new members over time.
