Hike & Bike for Hospice

A new record was set when nearly 700 people gathered for the annual Hike & Bike to raise funds for Hospice Georgian Triangle. The yearly fundraiser invites participants to complete a 6k hike or bike, or a 20k bike ride through the Collingwood trails. This year, the goal was to raise $175000, and Executive Director Sandra Sullivan stated that the organization was on track to surpass their target.
With an annual operating budget of 2.2 million dollars and only 50% of that subsidized by government funding, Hospice relies on community driven fundraisers to keep their programs running. For people who have worked with Hospice firsthand and benefitted from their palliative care resources and support, participating in initiatives line the Hike & Bike provide excellent opportunities to give back to an organization that gives so much.
