Gathering of the Classics

The Gathering of the Classics began 35 years ago as a fly-in to unite the local aviation community. Since then, the exhibition has grown into Canada’s largest gathering of classic aircraft and cars, and serves as a showcase of Canadian innovation. The event features historical displays and tours of the Edenvale airport, interactive installations for visitors to get up close and personal with signature planes, and flight tours in vintage models.
The Gathering is run collaboratively by the Edenvale Classic Aircraft Foundation, the Canadian Air & Space Conservancy Museum, and the Wasaga Cruisers. One of the most impressive elements of the event is the replica of the Avro Arrow; one of the most significant and successful projects in Canadian aviation innovation. The Arrow was designed in the mid 1950s to intercept enemy bombers, and along with exceeding all project expectations, it also pioneered ejection seats built locally in Collingwood.
