Pet owners in South Georgian Bay can breathe a sigh of relief with the official opening of BayVETS; the area’s first after hours clinic. Until now, any sick or injured pet would need to be rushed to larger centres like Barrie and even Toronto, but thanks to the efforts of seven dedicated local vets, there is new emergency care available in Collingwood.

BayVETS has been in development for some time, and the clinic is bound to be busy. With thousands of pet owners between Wasaga Beach and Meaford plus all of the visitors to the area travelling with pets, access to quality veterinary services locally has been long overdue. Pets in need do not to need to be preregistered and all are welcome, though the clinic requests that owners call ahead of arrival so that the team on staff are able to prepare for the incoming patients.
