The Camplin’s Sandhill 7 Farm in Clarksburg is a small family run operation that provides visitors with behind-the-scene tours of their various operations.
Maple syrup production peaks in early spring when the temperature rises during the day and drops below freezing overnight. Owner David Camplin is always happy to show visitors the process of making the delicious Canadian staple.
The maple syrup tours take visitors into the woods where nearly 100 trees are tapped annually. Camplin walks guests through the steps from harvesting sap through to bottling the finished product. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions and participate in the work to help instil a sense of appreciation for the product and the people who make it.
The tours are free but donations are appreciated. Maple Products, including syrup are available for purchase from the farm shop. More details can be found on the Camplin’s Sandhill 7 Farm Facebook page.
