Each year, the GTHS hosts at open house ahead of the holidays to encourage people interested in adopting pets to do so in time for Christmas. The event coincides with the Home for the Holidays campaign where animals are available for adoption at reduced rates.
Along with adoptions, the GTHS Open House allows visitors to tour the entire shelter and follows every pet’s road to adoption from intake through to finding their forever homes. Staff and volunteers are present at every stop along the tour to answer questions and provide more insight into the daily operations at the shelter.
