The Billy Bishop House & Museum in Owen Sound is currently featuring an exhibit on Second World War veterans which was both created and curated by local students.
Over 50 students from two participating schools in the area had the opportunity to visit France and pay their respects to soldiers who fought with the Allied Forces. The trip coincided with D-Day commemorations, and many students wrote letters, poets, and remarks about the soldiers they had been diligently researching for months.
On their return home, the museum, which had assisted the students in their research throughout their course on local history, decided to feature their work as a temporary exhibit.
The exhibit has been on display since July of 2024 and will runs until the spring of 2025.
